In this mission she is accompanied by the scout android YoRHa No. The female warrior is sent to our planet with the task of reclaiming it from hostile hands. The campaign tells the story of a female android named YoRHa No.2 Type B, constructed by the inhabitants of the Moon. The invasion of an alien civilization wiped out humanity from the surface of the Earth, and the survivors took refuge in lunar bases. The vision of these times presented by the authors is not optimistic. The action of Nier: Automata takes place in the distant future. Thanks to that, despite the change of developer, the title retained the atmosphere of its predecessor. This team did not create the original, but the project's director was Yoko Taro, a man who performed the same role in the production of the first installment of Nier and the game Drakengard. PlatinumGames studio, known from Vanquish or Bayonetta series, was responsible for the project development.
